Golf, tennis, horse-riding and more

While the wealth of courses means that golf lovers could never get bored, there is more to this area than just golf. Horse-riding, tennis, the increasingly popular stand-up paddle boarding off the golden sands of the nearby beaches – sporty types are spoilt for choice.

Historic Valderrama

With the Andalucía Masters almost upon us, the Sotogrande course is maintaining an enduring reputation for hosting world class competitions.  Opened in 1974, it was designed not once, but twice, by Robert Trent Jones Sr., one of the most respected course designers in the business. He conceived the original layout for the club, then was delighted to be asked back to revisit his design in 1984 when the course came under new ownership. Known as for its challenging play, Valderrama has hosted prestigious tournaments including the Ryder Cup, Volvo Masters and the World Golf Championships.

We are looking forward to a thrilling few days and whatever the outcome, spectators can be assured of the watching top-of-their-game sportsmen competing in a world-class setting.
